Kiddie Park, recognized by the National Amusement Park Historical Association as America's original children's amusement park, was established in 1925 and underwent a renovation in 2009. Among its distinct attractions is the 1918 Herschell-Spillman Carousel, originally from Miami and enchanting children and visitors in San Antonio since 1935. Despite modern enhancements, the park has retained its vintage charm by preserving the original rides, including the old-fashioned Ferris Wheel and the renowned Herschell Spillman carousel. Previously located near the intersection of Broadway and East Mulberry Avenue, it had to relocate to the San Antonio Zoo due to growth-related parking and expansion issues in the summer of 2019. The zoo has committed to retaining the nostalgic feel of Kiddie Park while providing the familiar experiences generations of visitors cherish. The park primarily caters to children aged 1-12, although adults are allowed to join in on certain rides free of charge. For $14, visitors can enjoy unlimited access to Kiddie Park rides, though individual rides are also available at $3 each.
