Expect the best when the top high school mariachi groups compete in the High School Finals as part of the 29th Annual Mariachi Extravaganza National Group Competition. Finalists are selected from schools participating in the Mariachi Extravaganza National Group Competition – High School Category – on the day prior. Performances demonstrate highly skilled, musicianship and vocalists in the most competitive national mariachi group competition in the U.S. Groups have up to 7 minutes to impress the judges who scrutinize every note played and sung as the best of the very best take the stage. Expect to see 16-piece mariachi groups made up of students who are dedicated, disciplined, and determined to be named the nation's best. Come one and come all to show support for your favorite group. This event is the highlight of the Mariachi Extravaganza now in its 29th consecutive year as one of the most important mariachi music festivals in the world.
