The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, located along the banks of the San Antonio River, is a revitalized historical icon. It's home to the San Antonio Symphony, Opera, and Ballet and houses three diverse venues: a 1,746-seat Performance Hall, a 232-seat Studio Theater, and a 600-seat River Walk Plaza.

  • The site's versatility is its hallmark. The H-E-B Performance Hall can transform from traditional theatrical seating to a flat floor, accommodating various events such as banquets or cabaret-style concert seating.
  • The Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater, a 259-seat black box studio theater, offers flexible seating arrangements, adjusting its capacity based on the event.
  • The Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza, an exterior venue alongside San Antonio's renowned River Walk, hosts a myriad of activities, including concerts, cinema nights, fitness events, film festivals, and receptions.

This venue came into fruition due to generous financial support, including $100 million in construction bonds approved by Bexar County voters in 2008 and a $41 million contribution from the City of San Antonio. The Tobin Endowment also made a significant $15 million challenge grant, met and exceeded by over $39 million in private funds. The Tobin Center embodies a commitment to promoting a diverse range of cultural, educational, and artistic experiences, thereby enriching the quality of life in San Antonio.
